STANFORD, Calif.-- For Stanford righthander Mark Appel, he did not really understand his religious faith until he moved from a public elementary school in Texas to a private school in California.

As Appel puts it, living in the glory of God is not something you do on Sundays or Wednesday nights, and then take the weekends for yourself, it's something you do every day.

Appel not only talks about his early upbringing, but also how God helped him through his freshman year and helped him develop into the pitcher he is today.
