STANFORD, Calif.-- The Stanford-Michigan three-game, two-day series on March 18 and 19 has been canceled due to impending weather in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Stanford, ranked No. 12 and off since March 4-6 at Texas due to finals, will have to wait until Monday, March 21, when it travels to UC Davis. The Cardinal will then travel to Pacific on Wednesday, March 23, before hosting Long Beach State March 25-27.
Michigan, which did not even fly out to the West Coast, will conclude the start to its season on a 15-game road trip. The Wolverines will play Michigan State in a three-game series March 25-27.
Stanford shortstop Kenny Diekroeger leads the Cardinal in hitting with a .422 average and eight RBIs, while Dean McArdle has a 1.29 ERA on three starts. Stanford features seven underclassmen starters on its squad this season.
