Perfect Game Preview Story

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Stanford Baseball receive two of 10 first place votes and is picked to finish second in the Pac-10 Conference, according to the league's 10 coaches.

UCLA, who along with Arizona State, played in last year's College World Series, received eight first place votes and 79 total points and is the preseason favorite. Stanford receive 66 points, followed by Arizona State (60 points), Oregon (59) and Arizona (48).

The bottom five consisted of: California (46), Washington State (37), Oregon State (28), USC (16) and Washington (11).

Depending on the poll, between five and seven Pac-10 teams are ranked in the national top-25 to start the season. Arizona State won last year's Pac-10 title, followed by UCLA and Washington State.

Last year, the Pac-10 sent a record eight teams to the NCAA Regionals, including Stanford, which finished off the season at 31-25.
