MLB Draft: Drafted in the 14th round by the Angels in the 2011 draft.

High School: Texas prep baseball player of the year and an all-state quarterback in football, he earned four varsity letters in baseball and three in football... as the team's quarterback, rushed for 2,063 yards with 20 touchdowns and added another 11 in the air on 1,388 yards earning all-great Houston quarterback honors, District MVP accolades and the district's offensive player of the year in 2010... missed half of his senior baseball season with a back ailment, but still hit 17 homers in 25 games with 50 runs. Hit .476 with a .565 on-base percentage and a 1.183 slugging percentage as a senior... had nine consecutive games with a homer, a state record... named by Collegiate Baseball a prep All-American his senior year... first team all-state player at catcher and first team all-greater Houston team pick in 2010... also named all-state in baseball and was the District MVP as well in baseball... as a junior hit .392 with a .506 on-base percentage and .789 slugging percentage, blasting 11 homers with 33 RBIs... as a junior in football, rushed for 1038 yards and passed for another 1092 yards. Had nine rushing TD's and eight TD's in the air, earning all-district quarterback and punting honors (40.3 yards per punt average)... all-district in baseball all four seasons.
