At Stanford: Enters the 2009 season primed to make a impact...had an outstanding fall, especially with the bat...put up great offensive numbers during Stanford's fall competition, including a lot of home runs...has put himself in the mix for playing time not only on the Cardinal infield, but also in the designated hitter role...has the ability to play second base, third and shortstop...has been hampered by injuries during his collegiate career, but enters 2009 fully healthy.

As a Freshman in 2007: Saw action in 13 games (all off the bench), primarily as a defensive replacement...went 2-for-6 (.333) at the plate, with a run scored and an RBI...collected both of his hits (in five at-bats) and his lone RBI during his eight Pac-10 contests...made his collegiate debut March 11 at USC...had a game of milestones March 31 vs. UCLA, collecting his first career hits and RBI in a 2-for-2 performance that also included a run scored.
High School: Graduated in 2006 from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, Calif....four-year letterwinner was a first-team All-Pacific League infielder in 2004 and 2005, as well as a league MVP nominee in 2005...All-Pacific League Defensive Player of the Year in 2004...earned Player of the Week honors from Glendale News Press...team Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and MVP in 2005...was honored with the 2006 CIF Sportsmanship Award representing his school...was hitting .500 with two homers and 19 RBI halfway through his senior year before a wrist injury...batted .410 with four homers and 26 RBI in his junior year...coached by Jim Dalzell.
Other Amateur Baseball: Enjoyed a solid 2008 summer campaign with the Kauai Menehunes of the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League...ranked third in the circuit with 33 RBI in just 33 games, while he was second with 14 doubles...batted .287 (41-for-143) with one triple and four stolen bases...spent the summer of 2007 with the Amersterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball League, hitting .269 (20-for-108) with 13 RBI and two stolen bases...did not play baseball in the summer of 2006...played with the San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals scout teams in the summer of 2005.
Personal Information: Son of Sang yeol and Keon ok Moon...was born in Seoul, Korea...has one sister, Narah...moved to the United States when he was 10 years old...lists day he moved to America as the biggest thrill of his life to date...became hooked on baseball at a young age by his dad, who is a baseball journalist...his earliest memories in the sport are going to baseball games in Korea with his dad...chose Stanford because, in his words, "it is the best academic and athletic school in the nation"...is a fan of the Boston Red Sox...majoring in management science and engineering.
