Summer Ball: Pitching for Hyannis in the in the 2011 Cape Cod League, produced a 3.41 ERA over seven games and five starts over 31.2 innings with 18 strikeouts and eight walks. Gave up 16 hits, going 2-1.... pitched for the Corvallis (Oregon) Knights in the West Coast Summer League in 2010, going 3-2 with a 4.36 ERA over 33.0 innings with 32 strikeouts and 12 walks ... tarted four games and was a reliever in another six. ... opponents hit .295.
Stanford Career: As a weekend starter part of his career, has gone 12-4 with a 4.68 ERA over 105.2 innings with 63 strikeouts and 41 walks... has given up 99 hits for a .254 opponent batting average.. had nine consecutive wins from the ladder part of his freshman season in April, 2011. It was the sixth-longest consecutive win streak since 1996.
As a sophomore in 2011: Started first seven weekends in the rotation, going 7-4 overall with a 4.21 ERA over 16 games and 12 starts and 57.2 innings... struck out 30 and walked 23 with a .257 batting averaged based on 56 hits... began year 4-0 with winning the series at Rice (2/20) with 5.0 innings one unearned run and three hits at Rice to open the year, before evening the series in his third start at Texas with one run over 7.2 innings with three strikeouts... also won a midweek start with Santa Clara, with 4.0 shutout innings to lower his ERA to 1.00 to start the year.... stuck out a career-best six two weeks later at Washington State (5/3) before suffering his first career loss at USC after four runs over 2.0 innings (4/10)... also lost at Oregon State (4/17) seven days later, with 2.1 innings in a start, knocking him from the weekend rotation... rebounded by retiring the final six batters he faced at Santa Clara (4/19) giving up two runs in 3.0 innings and getting a no-decision with two runs over 4.0 relief innigns at Saint Mary's (4/26).... picked up his first win at San Jose State (5/1) since April 3 with one unearned run over 5.1 innings and went 6.1 innings against UC Davis with four runs to earn his third consecutive win on the midweek affairs... closed out his season with losses at Oregon (5/15) and Cal Poly (5/24).
As a Freshman in 2010: Became the Sunday starter over the last four Sundays, going 5-0 with a 5.25 ERA over 21 games and four starts, pitching 48.0 innings with 43 hits allowed and 33 strikeouts ... walked 18 and had a .251 opponent batting average ... also had two saves ... in third career start at No. 26 Arizona (5/23), pushed his record to 5-0 with 5.0 innings, giving up three runs on six hits in second-straight rubber game. McArdle had retired the first seven batters of the game, and scattered just two hits over the first four scoreless innings. ... pitched 5.2 shutout innings in rubber game against Washington State (5/16), giving up a two-run homer in the sixth in a no-decision.
