At Stanford: Is fully healthy following 2007 "Tommy John" surgery, and should be a key component of Stanford's 2009 pitching staff...was limited to just one appearance and 0.2-inning last year while he continued his comeback from surgery, but had an outstanding fall...throws hard, with a fastball that can top out in the mid-90s...is also effective with his changeup and breaking ball...has the stuff to be a starter, but can also be used in any relief role...has all the tools to become a top-notch collegiate pitcher once he gains more experience.
As a Redshirt Freshman in 2008: Resumed pitching for the first time since his 2007 elbow surgery...made his collegiate debut in the second game of Stanford's opening day doubleheader against Nebraska, retiring two of the three batters he faced in relief (one hit batsmen)...did not pitch the remainder of the season, but was with the club.
As a Freshman in 2007: Was a member of the team, but did not see any action due to injury and was granted a medical redshirt season.

Metropolitan Area...named a National Merit Scholar Finalist...coached by Bob Brown and Buddy Burkhead.
Other Amateur Baseball: A member of the Cal Ripken Senior Collegiate League champion Silver Spring/Tacoma Thunderbolts during the summer of 2006, pitching in a pair of games with an 0-1 record and a 4.00 ERA...pitched for the Central Florida Renegades during the summer of 2005...spent the summer of 2004 with the Most Valuable Player squad and the summer of 2003 with the DC Dynasty club...participated in the 2006 Perfect Game National Pre-Draft Showcase in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the 2005 Perfect Game AFLAC Showcase in Baltimore, Maryland; and the 2005 Perfect Game National Showcase at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia...was ranked No. 121 on the Perfect Game Top 2006 list.
Personal Information: Son of Robert and Hale Krasne...has one sister, Meg, who plays collegiate softball at the University of Pennsylvania...father rowed collegiately at Georgetown, while his cousin, Matt Kenkel, was a gymnast at the Air Force Academy...is a fan of the Washington Nationals...hobbies include making model airplanes...what he loves most about baseball is, in his words, "the one-on-one challenge between the pitcher and the hitter"...majoring in political science.
