NEW ORLEANS - Women's cross country was honored on Thursday with three earning National All-Academic status. Kathy Kroeger, Stephanie Marcy and Aisling Cuffe each earned the honor as awarded by the Unites States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Both Kroeger and Marcy earned All-America honors at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and are repeat winners of the academic award. Cuffe earns All-Academic status as just a freshman.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region's top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2010.

Kroeger placed 21st at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and is a three-time All-American, having twice earned All-America status on the track in the 5,000 meters. She won the Razorback Invitational at 3,000 meters just two weeks ago and appears on track for he first healthy and successful indoor season in 2012.

Marcy completed her career at Stanford with a 32nd-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. She was Stanford's most consistent runner over her career that included four All-America honors overall in cross country and track. Marcy has now begun her professional running career.

Finally, Cuffe finished 22nd at the NCAA West Regional and 74th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. She recently set the American Junior Record at 3,000 meters indoors and has an incredibly bright future in a Cardinal uniform.
