High School: Finished 14th in the 2008 California Division I cross country championship, helping Dana Hills to the team title ... along with his brother Tyler, the Valdes twins provided a strong 1-2 punch for Dana Hills ... high school personal bests on the track were 1:53 in the 800 meters, 4:12 in the 1,600 and 9:50 in the 3,200 ... also a member of the school record-setting distance medley, 4xmile and 4x800-meter relays.
