2010 Season (RS Freshman): Top finish of seventh place came at the Doc Adams Invitational with a time of 24:39 ... placed 10th at the Jim Heuval Twilight Invitational with a 6K time of 20:49 ... placed 36th at the Bronco Invitational with an 8K time of 24:44.0.

2009 Season (Freshman): Redshirted.

High School: Finished 14th in the 2008 California Division I cross country championship, helping Dana Hills to the team title ... along with his brother Tyler, the Valdes twins provided a strong 1-2 punch for Dana Hills ... high school personal bests on the track were 1:53 in the 800 meters, 4:12 in the 1,600 and 9:50 in the 3,200 ... also a member of the school record-setting distance medley, 4xmile and 4x800-meter relays.
