2011 Season (RS Sophomore): Ran in three races ... highest finish was 13th at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, Calif. (8K, 24:16.2 ... was 17th at the Stanford Invitational (8K, 24:47) and 26th at the USF Invitational (8K, 25:52).
2010 Season (RS Freshman): Top 8K time of 24:58.9 came at the Bronco Invitational to finish 46th ... placed 15th at the Doc Adams Invitational with a time of 25:12 ... finished 85th at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 25:38.
2009 Season (Freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Won the California state Division I cross-country individual title in 2008 and led Dana Hills to the team crown ... a two-time all-state track and field selection after finishing sixth in the state meet's 1,600 meters in both 2008 and 2009 ... high school personal bests include 1:54 for the 800, 4:09 for the 1,600 and 9:14 for the 3,200.
Personal: Major is management science and engineering ... parents are B.T. and Tammy Valdes ... twin brother, Ryan, is also a Stanford cross country team member ... a USTFCCCA Academic All-American for track and field in 2010.
