09/28/2012 Season Preview: Cross CountryThe No. 6 Cardinal women and No. 9 Cardinal men hope to end up on the podium at the NCAA Championships 11/12/2011 Stanford Men Win the West Region Title, Women 3rdBoth teams will advance to the NCAA Championships on November 21. 10/29/2011 Colorado Sweeps the First Pac-12 Titles; Stanford Men 2nd, Women 3rdThe Cardinal fall just short in both races, placing second and third, while Colorado won both races. 10/26/2011 Cross Country Looks for the First Pac-12 TitlesThe No. 4 men and No. 8 women will compete in the first Pac-12 Championships in any sport. 10/14/2011 Men Third, Women Fifth at the Wisconsin adidas InvitationalThe No. 4 men finish third, while the No. 6 women place fifth in the highly competitive Wisconsin adidas Invitational. At Stanford: Was an immediate contributor in cross country in 2011. 2012 Season (Sophomore): Did not compete. 2011 Season (Freshman): Burst onto the scene, placing eighth at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 20:51 in her first collegiate race ... finished 52nd at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 21:29 ... finished 62nd at the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 21:43 ... competed at the Wisconsin Invitational, placing 197th with a time of 21:51.5. High School: A seven-time All-American, including 2011 appearances at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals (distance medley relay), the USATF Juniors (1,500), and the New Balance Indoor Nationals (4x800 and mile) ... named to all-state teams for cross country in 2010 and track in 2011 ... 2010 Nike Cross National Northeast individual champion ... holds the New Jersey state sophomore record in the 1,000 meters (2:56) as well as the Ocean County Park 5K course record (17:14) ... set 18 school records ... cross country squad won the 2010 county, conference, and state championships ... 2011 track team won the New Balance Nationals 4x800 indoor with the third-best all-time result ... holds the New Jersey state record in the DMR ... captained her cross country as well as both the winter and spring track teams twice each. Personal: Daughter of Peter and Susan McNamara ... has three younger siblings, Connor, Mary Kate and Emmett ... anticipating a major in cancer biology or pathology ... enjoys knitting, cooking, and going to the beach ... full name is Mary Eileen McNamara.
