Running With Kate Niehaus

Senior captain Kate Niehaus enters her final season on The Farm in 2010. The Coulumbia, S.C. native was a member of the 2007 NCAA title cross country team for Stanford. More recently, Niehaus was the MPSF Champion at 5,000 meters as well as qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the same distance. Niehaus also excels in the classroom was she has carried a GPA above 4.0 during her 3+ years at Stanford. In the fall, she earned the NCAA Elite 88 Award as the top student at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Niehaus recently took a moment to answer some questions from gostanford.com.

A small group of Stanford track and field athletes traveled to the New Mexico Classic and Combined Events. The meet was an opportunity for some young multi-event athletes to get their first collegiate experience.

Distance Runners Come Up Big At Texas A&M

The Stanford track and field took part in the Texas A&M Challenge on Saturday with strong results. The unique meet pitted Stanford and Pac-10 against schools from the Big-12 and the SEC. The Cardinal, Oregon and Washington State represented the Pac-10 and finished second in both the men's and women's competitions. The Big-10, represented by Texas A&M, Texas and Baylor won both competitions, while the SEC, represented by Arkansas, Florida and South Carolina finished third.
