Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field Edrick Floreal has announced the addition of 10 student-athletes (six men and four women) to next fall's incoming class. The class joins the group of 12 women and 10 men that were announced earlier in the spring.

Stanford Completes The National Team In Texas

The Cardinal concluded the NCAA Preliminary Rounds with several more NCAA qualifiers. Both the men and the women added to their national teams on the final day of the West Regional meet. The women added two individual qualifiers and a relay, while the men had four individual qualifiers in the distances.

Stanford finished day to of the NCAA Preliminary Rounds with several more athletes punching their tickets to the final rounds in Eugene. The Cardinal showed its depth as a team with athletes from the sprints, hurdles, distances and the field all moving though to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Stanford opened the new format of national qualifying Thursday with several athletes moving through the rounds of the NCAA Preliminary meet. In addition, Stephanie Marcy, Jake Riley and Katerina Stefanidi punched their tickets to the final rounds in Eugene, Ore., from June 9-12.

The NCAA Outdoor Championships will take on a new format this season as the regional format has been discontinued and the national meet will take place over two weekends and several rounds. The announcement of the fields took place today with Stanford well represented. The Cardinal women will have 17 women compete in 20 individual events along with one relay, while the men will have 15 athletes compete in 16 individual events as well as two relays.

Stanford Earns Three More Pac-10 Individual Titles

The Stanford track and field teams added three more individual conference titles on Sunday at Edwards Stadium on the campus of California. Chris Derrick earned a second individual title to lead the men to a third-place finish with 92 points. The women got individual titles from Jaynie Goodbody and Katerina Stefanidi to finish fifth with 88 points.

The Pac-10 Track and Field Championships are underway at Edwards Field on the campus of California. Both Stanford teams scored 33 points on day one, but most of the finals will take place Sunday. The Cardinal men swept the top three places in the 10,000 meters, while the women excelled in the long jump.

The Pac-10 multis continued on Sunday from Edwards field with Karynn Dunn placing eighth overall. The Stanford freshman earned one team point as the full team competes next weekend at the Pac-10 Championships.

The 2010 Pac-10 Championships got underway on Saturday from Edwards Field on the campus of California with the multi-events. The Cardinal had a pair of athletes competing in the heptathlon with freshman Karynn Dunn sitting in fifth place after four events.
