Long Beach, Ca - Adam Tenforde, who helped lead the Stanford men's cross country teams to two NCAA titles, has been named first team Academic All-American by CoSIDA (the college sports information directors of America).

Tenforde graduated from Stanford University in 2004 with a 3.88 GPA in Human Biology.

Forty-eight male student-athletes from 41 different NCAA Division I institutions in track & field/cross country were honored. Tenforde is one of four Pac-10 student-athletes on the 48-man list.

During his four seasons at Stanford, Tenforde excelled in the classroom by being named All Pac-10 Academic five times. Tenforde recently won an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.

Tenforde won All-America honors five times in track and cross country. During seven races during the 2003 cross country season, Tenforde finished in the Top-10 six times. Tenforde, from Richland, Wa, is currently training for the upcoming U.S. Olympic Trials in the 5,000 meters.
