Arianna Lambie, a senior from Harvard, Mass., has been named the NCAA Division I West District women's track athlete of the year, announced today by the US Track & Field Coaches Association.

Lambie became the first woman to win the 1,500 and 5,000 meters at Pacific-10 Conference meet and qualified for NCAA Championships with a first-place finish in 1,500 at West Regional. She has the second-fastest NCAA time in the 1,500 (4:14.05) behind North Carolina's Brie Felnagle (4:11.86). At the 2007 NCAA Indoor Championships, she finished second in the 5,000 and third in the 1,500. Lambie has led Stanford to successive NCAA cross country championships in 2005-06.

Lambie will be competing in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championships, June 6-9 in Sacramento, Calif.
