Austin, Tx - Stanford athletes competed in two events during first day competition at the Texas Relays on Thursday.

In the women's 4 x 800 meter relay, the Cardinal team of Katie Hotchkiss, Cherise Thompson, Ashley Freeman and Nashonme Johnson finished sixth in a time of 8:53.43. Texas won the event in a time of 8:33.49.

In the women's 400 meter hurdles, Lindsey Johnson placed 17th in a time of 62.15. Raasin McIntosh of Texas won the event in a time of 56.57.

Competition continues through Saturday.
