Stanford women's sailing is ranked third and coed comes in at 13th in the latest college racing rankings released by Sailing World today. The ranking represents a one spot jump for the coed team and a fall from 2nd for the women since the last rankings were released two weeks ago.
The latest rankings reflect Stanford's finish in the Sloop PCC's, Coed Hoyt Trophy and Stu Nelson Women's regattas. At the Sloop PCC's the Cardinal placed third, at the Hoyt Trophy hosted by Brown Stanford coed placed ninth and at Stu Nelson's the women placed third.
USC at 15 is the only other ranked coed team in the Pac-10 and no other women's team appears from the conference in the top 15 women's sailing programs. Stanford is among only 12 schools to have both coed and women's sailing ranked in the top 20.
The rankings are compiled by Sailing World's coaches panel of Michael Callahan (Georgetown), Ken Legler (Tufts), and Mike Segerblom (USC). The complete rankings can be viewed at Sailing World's website here.
Stanford next takes to the water for the ICSA Women's Singlehandeds in Seattle, WA November 2-4 and for the UCLA Team Race Open Nov. 3 in Los Angeles, CA.
