Annapolis, MD - While the top women's skippers battled for a space on the podium at Yale, the top four men's skippers and crews battled in light and lumpy air on Saturday and windier conditions on Sunday at the heavily secured USNA in Maryland. Twenty college teams competed, and twenty races were held in each division.

Sailing in A-Division, Ted Conrads '03 and crew Amy Halvorsen '05 had a tough day Saturday, finishing the day in 12th of the 20 schools participating. Conrads/Halvorsen pulled it out on Sunday, with a series of top-8 finishes, to pull them up to 9th of 20 in the 20 race series. Competing in B-Division, Peter Deming '04 and Lauren Gross '05 had an amazingly consistent series, earning them a steady place of 4th in the B-Division standings. Kara Sweeney '03 swapped in as crew and sailed most of Sunday's B-Div races with Deming.

Singlehanded C-Divsion guru Dave Kenny '03 battled with the other 20 C-Div sailors, although he only dropped out of the top 10 once, his performance was not good enough to get him higher than 5th overall in the final C-Division standings. In singlehanded D-Division, Dave Phillips '04 made a cameo appearance as a Laser Sailor. After Saturday's light air, Phillips dominated D-div in 1st, but Sunday's windy cold front brought out the best in some of his competitors, and Phillips dropped to 8th in the final standings.

The team is pleased with their performance over the weekend, although slightly dissapointed that they dropped from 3rd overall after Saturday's races to 7th overall after Sunday.
