STANFORD, Calif. -
Stanford sailing will begin the fall season with respective rankings of fourth (coed) and eighth (women), according to Sailing World's College Rankings released Monday. Sailing World's college rankings are determined by an open coaches poll.
At the 2012 national championships, the Cardinal finished eighth in both team racing and coed nationals while placing 13th in the women's nationals.
Four student-athletes were earned All-America honors following the 2012 national championships as Kevin Laube and Oliver Toole were named All-American skippers and Kelly Ortel was named an All-American crew member. Skipper Sally Mace also earned All-American accolades.
The Cardinal won an unprecedented six Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference titles during the 2011-12 season, which was a league first. The Cardinal was one of six teams to compete at all three national championships.
