STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford sailors Ben Pedrick and Abby Soong were named the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference's (PCCSC) Coed Sailors of the Week following their “B” division win at the first of five North Regional Regattas Super Bowl Sunday in Redwood City.

The duo had the lowest point total of any of the 19 “B” division competitors on a shifty and breezy day on the Redwood City shores, tallying 18 points. In fact, the 18 points was the lowest of any of the competitors, thanks to three second place showings and one win in the six-race regatta.

Pedrick, a junior from Newport, RI, has been with the sailing team for three seasons, while Soong is a first-year sailor from Walnut Creek in the East Bay.

The Cardinal will be in action in their second North regatta on Valentine's Day at the Berkeley Marina.
