2011-12: Named a coed All-American crew member by the ICSA... All-PCCSC crew member, as the Cardinal had four of the six sailors on the all-conference crew squad... part of a conference-first, six league titles during academic year, winning the team and coed titles in the PCCSC... sailed at coed nationals and the coed semifinals, where the Cardinal were eighth at nationals and a school-best third at the semifinals... sailed at the team national championships in Austin, where the Cardinal finished eighth... finished third by going a combined 21-9 at the St. Mary's College of Maryland team race in March... crewed with fellow All-American Kevin Laube at the Navy Coed Regatta in November, where the Cardinal were third. Also sailed with her brother Jack... part of second place Boston Dinghy Cup team, sailing in the A Division with Laube... also part of second place Admiral's Cup team.

2010-11: Appeared in 10 regattas, all as crew ... a part of Stanford's eighth-place performance in the National Team Championships ... finished in the top-10 in each and every event ... had her only first-place finish of the season at the PCCSC Spring Coeds, winning two races and helping the Cardinal to a B Division victory ... came in second at three events, including the Freshman Intersectional and the PCC Fall Dinghy Championships in a five-day span in November ... won three races - her second-highest mark on the season - to place fourth in the A Division at Stoney Burke on Oct. 16.

Prior to Stanford: While at Annapolis Senior High was a member of both field hockey and swim teams... finished second at the 420 National Championships, spending one year sailing for the Annapolis Yacht Club.

Personal: Daughter of Erik Ortel and Kathleen Sheehan... has two younger brothers, Jack and Austin... major is undecided.
