Kelly McKenna Earns All-America Status For A Third Straight Year

Senior crew and team captain Kelly McKenna was named to the elite list of All-American crew at the All-American Banquet Wednesday night. The honor of crew All-American status, conferred upon a maximum of 20 sailors per year, is commonly referred to as the most difficult All-American list to make.

Sailing Completes Season With 15th-Place Finish At Coed Dinghy Nationals

The spring season came to an end Wednesday with the conclusion of the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy Nationals hosted by Stanford University and St. Francis Yacht Club. All involved agreed the event went off without a hitch. The Cardinal sailors finished the event in 15th out of the 18 teams, and finished the season as the ninth overall team in the country based on Fowle Trophy Points awarded at each of the six national championships held throughout the year.

Boston College won the event, with St. Mary's, Georgetown, and Yale rounding out the top four. Charleston and Harvard squeaked past Stanford in the Gold Round of the top eight teams to take fifth and sixth, respectively.

Stanford Sailors 12th at ICSA Women's National Championship

After two long days of racing in mostly breezy conditions, the Stanford Cardinal finished the ICSA Women's National Championship in 12th place overall. While the Cardinal seemed to improve upon the consistency of their starts by the second day, it was other untimely misfortunes that prevented the Cardinal from finding a more competitive rhythm.

After one day of racing and half way through the two-day Collegiate Women's National Championships, the Cardinal finds itself in twelfth place. The regatta, co-hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and Stanford on St. Francis Yacht Club's famous City Front venue, brings together eighteen teams representing the cream of the crop from seven districts across the United States.

The ICSA National Sailing Championships are coming to the Bay Area from May 25 through June 3. Stanford will host both the ICSA Women's Championships from May 25-27 and the Coed Dinghy Championships from June 1-3. Both events will take place at St. Francis Yacht Club.
