The Stanford fencing team completed their 2008-09 season with another top national finish after placing ninth at the NCAA Championships. The Cardinal totaled 73 points, while Penn State won the national title with 195.

Stanford fencing won the NCAA West Regional on Saturday by capturing five of the six events. The five winners will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, while the Cardinal will have to wait for the announcement on Tuesday to see who was selected as an at-large bid.
