Louisville, Kent. - Stanford freshman Kevin Mo won the national junior circuit in the epee to advance to the next stage of qualifying. Mo has put himself in excellent position to qualify for the World Championships team.

Mo is currently ranked second in the nation in the junior men's epee for 2008-09. This is an improvement over 2007-08 when he finished the season ranked sixth and 2006-07 when he finished ranked fourth.

Mo has been fencing since 2001, when he trained under Yakov Danilenko, the former Russian men's epee national team coach. However, Mo moved to California in 2003 and has been competing in USFA national tournament ever since.

Mo will look to help the Stanford fencing team in their upcoming Mid West Invitational in South Bend, Ind. The Cardinal swept their early season Western Invitational, but will face tougher competition in their upcoming bouts.
