World Rowing Under-23 Championships Results

TRAKAI, Lithuania - Stanford lightweight rower Liz Fenje completed competition at the World Rowing Under-23 Championships Sunday, finishing fifth in the women's lightweight double with fellow Canadian Erin Snelgrove.

It was Fenje's third straight Under-23 Championship appearance, and Sunday's finish matched her highest at the event, earned in 2010.

Sunday's A final got off to a quick start, as less than two seconds separated the top five boats after the opening 500 meters.

Fenje and Snelgrove were in fourth position at that point but would drop to sixth by the 1,000-meter mark. The Canadian pair battled on and would pass Switzerland in the final 500 meters but could not corral anymore competitors, finishing fifth with a time of 7:33.83, eight seconds away from the medal stand.
