STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford lightweight rower Liz Fenje was selected to represent Canada in the lightweight women's double at the 2011 Under 23 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands from July 20-24.

Fenje, a native of Victoria, B.C., will row for the second straight year with Canada's lightweight women's double after finishing fifth at last year's U-23 championships. AS a sophomore at Stanford in 2010-11, she rowed in the No. 6 seat for Stanford's 2011 National Champion Lightweight Eight.

"Liz has worked through a lot this year," said Stanford lightweight rowing head coach Al Acosta. "However, when you add it all up she's accomplished quite a bit-her teammates voted her 'Most Inspirational'-she helped win another national championship, and now she's off to race at the U23 World Championship. We are all extremely proud of her."
