STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford lightweight rower Liz Fenje was selected to represent Canada in the lightweight women's double at the 2010 Under 23 World Rowing Championships in Brest, Belarus from July 22-25.

Fenje, a freshman this past season from Victoria, B.C., rowed in the No. 6 seat for Stanford's 2010 National Champion Lightweight Eight boat.

"I feel honored for the opportunity to represent Canada in Belarus this summer," commented Fenje. "The Stanford coaching, both on the water and in the weight room, prepared me really well for the intense seat racing and time trialing involved in Canadian team selection. This has been such a great year. My first collegiate rowing experience couldn't have been more positive at Stanford-I'm already excited to start again in September!"

The Canadian Under 23 Team departs for Frankfurt, Germany on July 11.
