History
- Maloney Field
is home to both the men’s and women’s soccer teams and the women’s lacrosse
team. Phase I of construction was completed in 1997 at a cost of about
$500,000. The second phase of construction was completed in the summer
of 1998, with the addition of permanent bleachers and lights to make
it one of the top collegiate soccer facilities in the country. The facility
was named after Harry Maloney, one of the most storied coaches in the
early years of Stanford University’s athletic history.
Location
& Directions
- Maloney Field
is located at the northeast side of campus, near El Camino and Sam McDonald
Road. It is adjacent to Sunken Diamond, and is across Sam McDonald Road
from Stanford Stadium. It is visible from El Camino Real (Highway 82).
From
Highway 101 North & South:
- Take the Embarcadero
Road exit west towards Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns
into Galvez Street. Cross El Camino Real and continue on Galvez. Turn
left on Nelson Road and proceed into the Varsity Parking Lot. The
Maloney Field entrance is at the back left of the Varsity Lot.
From
Highway 280 North & South: You have three alternative routes.
- Exit Sand Hill
Road east towards Stanford. Continue on Sand Hill until you reach
the Stanford Shopping Center. Turn right on Arboretum Road and make
another right on Galvez Street. Then make a left onto Nelson Road
and proceed into the Varsity Parking Lot. The Maloney Field entrance
is at the back left of the Varsity Lot.
- Exit Alpine Road
east towards Stanford. Turn right at the first traffic light onto
Junipero Serra Blvd. Turn east at the next traffic light onto Campus
Drive West. Continue on Campus Drive until you reach Galvez Street,
where you’ll take a left. Turn left on Nelson Road and proceed into
the Varsity Parking Lot. The Maloney Field entrance is at the back
left of the Varsity Lot.
- Exit Page Mill
Road towards Palo Alto. Turn left at the second traffic light onto
Junipero Serra Blvd. Continue on Junipero Serra Blvd. and turn right
onto Campus Drive East. Take a right on Galvez Street, then make a
left onto Nelson Road and proceed into the Varsity Parking Lot. The
Maloney Field entrance is at the back left of the Varsity Lot.
Seating
& Tickets
- The capacity of
Maloney Field is 1,520 for fixed seating. With compatibility for 32
disabled seats, the total seating becomes 1,552. Maloney Field has permanent
bleacher seating, with the capacity for additional temporary bleachers
on the eastside of the field.
- Tickets are sold
on the day of the game only for soccer and lacrosse. For more ticket

Parking (Free)
- Parking is located
in the Varsity Parking Lot. It can be accessed via Nelson Road, off
of Galvez Street, north of Stanford Stadium.

- The disabled section
is between the two permanent bleachers and in front of the first row
of seating.
Gates
Open
- Gates open one
hour prior to both soccer and lacrosse games.

- For Guest Services,
see one of the Event Managers. Lost and found articles are handled with

Lighting
- The lighting at
the field consists of four 80-foot poles that house a total of 104 1,000-watt
incandescent bulbs. These allow night competition in accordance with
NCAA standards.
Restrooms
- Restrooms are available
at the southeast corner of Masters Grove. Restrooms are also located
inside the football stadium behind the ticket office at Gate 2. Gate
1 will be open for access if necessary.
