2003 Stanford Football

The 2003 Stanford Cardinal football team embarks on one of their toughest schedules in its 110 year storied history. The Cardinal play nine teams that finished over .500 last year. Coach Buddy Teevens and his staff have molded a cast of young men who are eager to tackle this year’s season. National powerhouse Notre Dame as well as Pac-10 rivals UCLA & California will all visit The Farm this year!

The Cardinal return 38 letterwinners along with three starters on offense and eight on defense. Coach Teevens will have to replace offensive standouts OT Kwame Harris and WR Teyo Johnson who both entered the 2003 draft early. The offense returns a host of quality football players that have played substantial time. Coach Teevens and his offensive staff have a great nucleus to mold. Look for WR Luke Powell, RBs Ken Tolon & J.R. Lemon, TEs Brett Pierce and Alex Smith to lead a balanced attack. On defense the Cardinal return a bulk of their playmakers. Look out for DT Julian Jenkins, S O.J. Atogwe, DL Amon Gordon, ILB Michael Craven, CB Leigh Torrence & CB Stanley Wilson to lead the Cardinal with a swarming defense that will stop the run and put constant pressure on the quarterback.

This winter Coach Teevens and his staff were able to recruit an array of highly touted prospects throughout all regions of the country that will provide depth on both sides of the ball.
