| Stanford’s eighth singles champion, Mayotte was a two-time first-team All-American in his three years on the Farm. He helped the Cardinal capture two straight NCAA team championships in 1980 and 1981, later earning the esteemed Rafael Osuna Award for sportsmanship. The singles and team titles he won during his junior season marked the fifth time a Stanford tennis player had won both crowns in the same year.
