Paul Wiggin was a two-time first team All-American at defensive tackle in 1955 and ’56. He is one of only two players in school history to return as Stanford’s head football coach (the other being Chuck Taylor). As a player, Wiggin was a three-year starter at defensive tackle (1954-56). Drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 1956 NFL Draft, he went on to an 11-year professional career including three championship game appearances and one world championship with the Browns. He coached in the NLF for 12 seasons and was the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs from 1975-77. Wiggin returned to The Farm as Stanford’s head football coach from 1980-83. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
