Nearly three decades after the end of her playing career at Stanford, the career numbers put up by Jeanne Ruark Hoff in her four seasons (1978-81, 82-83) still stand among the top 10 in the Cardinal record books, a fitting testament to her dominance. Hoff’s freshman season in 1978-79 marked Stanford’s first 20-win campaign, as she averaged 21.3 points and 8.4 rebounds a game while shooting 64.4 percent from the field. She was named to the All-NorCal First Team in each of the two seasons that she helped lead the Cardinal to the AIAW Region 8 Playoffs (1979-80), and as a senior in 1983 was named to the All-WCAA Second Team. At the end of Hoff’s senior season (1982-83), she had become the first player in Stanford history to score 2,000 career points, finishing with 2,038, and also held the school’s top career marks in points per game (17.6), rebounds (908), rebounds per game (7.8) and shooting percentage (58.6).
