| John Paye lettered at Stanford from 1983-86, finishing his career as the No.2 passer in school history (7669 yards) behind John Elway. The starting quarterback on the 1986 team that went 8-4 and played in the Gator Bowl, Paye posted career totals of 38 touchdowns with a .597 completion percentage. In 1983, Paye started at point guard for Stanford’s basketball team achieving the rare feat of starting in both football and basketball as a freshman. Paye was selected in the 10th round of the 1987 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers and spent two years in the NFL, one as a member of the Super Bowl XXIII Champions. | |||||||||||
