Jim Delaney
Class: 1975
Sport: Men's Tennis
Stanford: ---
Jim Delaney helped lead Stanford to its first ever NCAA championship in tennis in 1973, part of a memorable sophomore season that also saw him take the doubles title with Alex Mayer. When the squad repeated in 1974, so did Delaney, winning his second straight doubles title with eventual Cardinal head coach John Whitlinger. Delaney became Stanford’s first four-time first-team All-American, a feat that has been repeated by only four players: Alex O’Brien, Ryan Wolters, K.J. Hippensteel and KC Corkery.
