Jair Lynch
Class: 1993
Sport: Men's Gymnastics
Stanford: 1990-93
A 10-time All-American between 1990 and 1993, Jair Lynch is among the strongest all-around gymnasts in Stanford history. He helped the Cardinal win its first NCAA team gymnastics titles in both 1992 and 1993, capturing individual crowns in the horizontal bar and parallel bars along the way. A nominee for the 1993 Nissen-Emery Award, Lynch would eventually join the U.S. National Team and compete in both the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and become just the second African-American gymnast to participate in the Games. Overcoming a 104-degree fever, he nearly took bronze in the parallel bars in 1992. Four years later, fighting off an injured hand, he won silver in the event.
