| Five of Stanford’s eight NCAA golf championships were won under Eddie Twiggs in his 15-year stint as head coach. Twiggs coached the team to four titles in five years, and another after golf resumed in 1946 following World War II, all the first crowns ever won by a team west of the Mississippi. His teams also captured three Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Golf Association crowns. In recognition of his success, Twiggs was named to the Hall of Fame of the Golf Coaches Association of America in 2004, more than half a century after he coached on the Farm. | |||||||||||
