| Bobby Grayson was a two-time consensus All-America selection in 1934 and ’35 and a member of Stanford’s vaunted “Vow Boys”. One of the greatest running backs in the early years of college football, Grayson finished his career with 1547 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. He played in three Rose Bowls, gaining 299 yards on 69 carries. Grayson rushed for 152 yards in the 1934 Rose Bowl and 119 yards in the 1935 game. In 1934, he rushed for 646 yards, scored ten touchdowns and made five interceptions. The following season, Grayson rushed for 551 yards and passed for 280 more. Legendary sportswriter Grantland Rice wrote of Grayson: “Here is a big, fast back who can run an end, hit a line, kick, pass, block and handle any assignment given him.” He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955. | |||||||||
