| Considered one of the great centers to play at Stanford, Stoefen who was nicknamed "Storke" was the team's third-leading scorer during his senior season. Playing alongside fellow All-American Hank Luisetti, he helped lead Stanford to a 68-11 record during his three seasons of varsity. The second-team All-America (1937-38) was noted by writers as the giant of the regulars at 6-4.5 and was repeatedly called upon to battle men considerably bigger, in both height and weight. | |||||||||||
