This summer has been great! The entire team made a concerted effort to stay in the area in order to play, workout, and grow together as a unit. Working together has definitely paid off and will continue to do so as we enter the 2006-07 season and school year. With such a large group of young and new players, this period has been a valuable and critical growing experience for our team. While we have been playing hard on the court, working diligently in the weight room, and taking classes, we have also spent a considerable amount of time bonding and having fun away from Maples Pavilion, whether it is out bowling or simply hanging out in the dorms. We have definitely taken advantage of the summer period to build team chemistry and camaraderie.

My teammates and I are anxious to get going with this upcoming season and school year. It is a new year and a new team that is hungry and excited for the many opportunities ahead of us. Of course, we will miss the leadership and presence of our senior leaders of last year, Dan Grunfeld, Jason Haas, Matt Haryasz and Chris Hernandez. In addition to the talent and experience we have returning from last year's team, we bring in a strong and very gifted group of hardworking freshmen. We also welcome an incoming sophomore transfer who has proven to be a valuable addition and contributor to the team. Each member of this incoming class brings a valuable and unique dimension to contribute to the dynamic of our team, both on and off the court.

We are eager and counting down the days to begin practice with Coach Johnson and the rest of our coaching staff as we work to regain elite status as Pac-10 champions. I'm sure you are just as excited as we are for the 2006-07 season to begin. We will be fun and exciting to watch and support.

Stanford Basketball has remained an elite program today because of the support system of the Cage Club and Stanford community, who have encouraged and bolstered our team each year. We cannot thank you enough for your support! We look forward to seeing all of you soon at the games and Stanford basketball events. God Bless and Go Cardinal!
