Junior Celia Durkin (Los Angeles, Calif.) of the women's tennis team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 30-Nov. 5.

Durkin outlasted No. 5 Zsuzsanna Fodor of California 6-2, 6-7 (1), 7-5 in the consolation singles title match at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Durkin, ranked No. 20 nationally, was upset in the first round of the tournament on Thursday afternoon and dropped to the consolation bracket. After defeating Wisconsin's Caitlin Burke 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (6) in her first consolation match, she registered back-to-back victories over Pac-10 opponents. Durkin downed UCLA's Yasmin Schnack 7-6 (5), 6-1 and USC's Sarah Fansler 6-4, 7-6 (5) to reach Sunday's final against Fodor.

This is Durkin's first Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor. Durkin and the rest of the Cardinal women's tennis squad return to action on November 21 against Hawaii in Honolulu.
