STANFORD, Calif.- Senior goalkeeper Ale Moss of the field hockey team has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 31.

This is the first career honor for Moss and first for a field hockey player since Becky Dru on Nov. 8, 2010.

In two starts, Moss notched a pair of road shutouts as Stanford blanked Michigan State 3-0 and No. 7 Michigan by the same score two days later.

Moss made a season-high nine saves in the victory over Michigan, which represented Stanford's biggest victory of the season to date. After taking down the seventh-ranked Wolverines for the first time in six meetings, the Cardinal has now knocked off six top-20 opponents this year while improving to 8-2 away from home.

Moss came away with six saves in the win at Michigan State.

Moss was also named the NorPac Defensive Player of the Week.

Stanford is riding a five-game winning streak heading into this weekend's NorPac Championship. The Cardinal, which will open play as the West Division's No. 1 seed against Appalachian State on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., is the four-time defending champion of the event.
