STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford running back Stepfan Taylor was named Stanford Athletics' Muscle Milk Athlete of the Week following a career-best performance in the team's win over Washington State on Saturday.
Taylor rushed for a career-best 142 yards on 27 carries, running over 100 yards for the fourth-straight week. In doing so, he became the fourth back in school history, joining Toby Gerhart, Darrin Nelson and Tommy Vardell to accomplish that feat. His two touchdowns gave him five on the season and were also a career-best.
Taylor ranks sixth in the league in rushing and as a team, the Cardinal are averaging 216.0 yards per game on the ground, 16th-best in the nation.
