Freshman Janson Wigo (Oakland Park, FL/Northeast) of the Stanford men's water polo team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 16-Oct. 22.

Wigo scored a game-high three goals on Sunday, including the game-winner in sudden-death overtime, to lead the fourth-ranked Cardinal to an 11-10 come-from-behind victory at UC Santa Barbara. His first two goals came in the fourth period, leading a 3-0 run that gave Stanford an 8-7 lead. In overtime, Wigo fired a skip shot past the UCSB goalkeeper to give Stanford the win.

This is Wigo's first Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor. Wigo and the rest of the Cardinal water polo squad return to action on Saturday, October 28 against Long Beach State at noon.
