Cameron Lamming Named Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Oct. 18, 2010

STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford defender Cameron Lamming (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) was named Stanford Athletics Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week following his game winning goal to defeat San Diego State. In addition, Lamming helped the Cardinal upset No. 13 UCLA as part of a 2-0 weekend.

Lamming's goal came off a corner kick in the 78th minute of the 1-0 win over San Diego State. Clayton Holz curled a corner kick into the box and Lamming buried the header for the game's only goal. Lamming also played a key role in the Stanford defense, which shutdown the Aztecs in the shutout.

Lamming also played a key defensive role on Friday in the 2-1 upset of UCLA. The Cardinal senior has been a revelation for the Stanford defense after being moved from the central midfield early in the season. Stanford has now won seven of its last nine games after a rough start and is in the thick of the Pac-10 title race. Next, the Cardinal will travel to Southern California for road rematches with UCLA and San Diego State.

ALSO NOMINATED: Alix Klineman (women's volleyball), Kathy Kroeger (women's cross country), David Mosko (men's swimming), Jake Riley (men's cross country), Jacob Smith ( men's water polo), Liz Smith (women's swimming), Katherine Swank (field hockey), Lindsay Taylor (women's soccer), Mateo Vargas (sailing), Andrew Yun (men's golf).
