Nnemkadi Ogwumike Named Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week
Sophomore Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair High School) of the Stanford women’s basketball team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 7-13.

Sophomore forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair High School) of the No. 2/2 Stanford women’s basketball team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 7-13.
Ogwumike scored a game-high 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting as Stanford triumphantly returned from its two-week break for finals Sunday with a 96-60 rout of DePaul at Maples Pavilion. The sophomore forward also grabbed six rebounds, made a pair of steals and blocked a shot in the contest.
Ogwumike, who took over the Pac-10’s top spot with 20.1 points per game with her 24-point effort, was also named Pac-10 Player of the Week for the second time this season on Dec. 14.
This is Ogwumike’s first Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor and the first for the women’s basketball team in the 2009-10 season. Ogwumike and the Cardinal conclude the five-game homestand this week with contests against No. 7/8 Duke and No. 3/3 Tennessee Tuesday night and Saturday morning, respectively.
