2010 Holiday Day Camp For Girls
Individual and Team Camp
Dec. 17 & 18, 2010
Day Camp only
Experienced Girls ages 13-18
Teams that come will be able to train together and their coaches are welcome to attend.
Saturday night there will be a social for all the coaches.

Registration will be available in mid-August

2011 Summer Water Polo Camps

The 2011 dates will be posted by the end of November with registration scheduled to begin in January.

CAMPS FOR INTERMEDIATE / BEGINNING WATER POLO PLAYER

The Stanford Water Polo Instructional Camp - (Mornings from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm)
Dates TBD
Designed to learn individual skills, water polo fundamentals, and team strategies at the country's premier aquatic facility. Co-ed athletes ages 8-14 are suited for this camp and will be grouped by age, ability and prior experience. Videoing of their shooting technique will take place as well.

The Stanford Water Polo Festival - (Afternoons from 1:00-4:00 pm)

Opportunity to utilize the skills they worked on at the Instructional camp in real-life game situations. Teams of athletes ages 8-14 will be created and a tournament will run throughout the co-ed camp with games taking place in the Avery Aquatics Center including the Avery competition stadium pool where the varsity teams compete.

The Instructional Camp and Water Polo Festival are TWO SEPARATE CAMPS but designed to BE TAKEN TOGETHER.

Campers may sign up for either or both.

General Information for Advanced Campers
Check In - Resident & Day Campers: Check in will be between 3:00 - 4:00 pm on the first day. A long water session will be this evening.
Check Out - Resident & Day Campers: Camp concludes at 12:00 pm on the final day of camp. A water session will happen in the morning.

Typical Full Day Schedule for Advanced Girls/Boys Camps
7:30 - Breakfast
9:00-11:00 - Pool Session I
12:00-2:00 - Lunch and rest
2:00-4:00 - Pool Session II or Video / Game Analysis
5:30 - Dinner
7:00-9:30 - Pool Session III
10:00 - Lights out

Additional Information
Check-in for ALL campers will be at the dorms.

Pickup for ALL campers will be at Avery Aquatic Center.

For those traveling by air:
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE AIRLINE RESERVATIONS WITHOUT RECEIVING WRITTEN CONFIRMATION FIRST. We will not be responsible for tickets purchased prior to receiving confirmation that the camp you want to sign up for has space available and that your child is accepted.

You will need to provide your own transportation to campus. Below are some links to shuttle options to/from the airports:

Shuttle dropoffs at beginning of camp:
Campers will need to be dropped off at the dorms (not at the pool). We will post the actual dorm closer to the camp dates.

Shuttle pick ups at the end of camp:
Shuttles should be arranged for campers to be picked up at the Avery Aquatic Center in the Varsity Parking Lot/Pac-10 Plaza (outside of the pool and next to baseball diamond).

Arrival:
Please make flight reservations to arrive between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm on the first day of camp.
Remember that check in does not begin until 3:00 pm. (Exception - Girls Session 1 check-in will begin at 4:00 pm.)

Departure:
Please arrange for return flights beginning as close to 2:00 pm or later (2 hours after the conclusion of camp).

John Vargas, Stanford's Head Men's Coach, and John Tanner, Stanford's Head Women's Coach, are the lead instructors for this internationally known water polo camp. All counselors are current or former members of the Stanford Water Polo Program.

Facility:
The Avery Aquatic Complex, located on the Stanford Campus, is composed of two 50-meter, Olympic-size pools, a 35-meter all deep competition pool with permanent seating for 2,400 spectators and a 25-meter diving well with a diving tower.

UNITED STATES WATER POLO REGISTRATION
If your child is not registered with United States Water Polo (USWP) for the current year, he must do so and must mail proof before the start of the camp or he will not be able to participate.  You can register online by logging on at www.usawaterpolo.org.

Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel at least two weeks prior to the start of camp, you may receive a refund, less $100.00 administration fee. Sorry, cancellations within two weeks prior to the start of camp or failure to appear at the start of camp cannot be refunded.
