STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford’s Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming Ted Knapp and head diving coach Rick Schavone recently announced that 10 student-athletes will continue their academic and athletic careers on The Farm beginning in the fall of 2014.

The eight swimmers and two divers boast abundant experience in major national and international meets while competing across the globe against the world’s best.

“Our incoming class is a very talented group that will have an impact on both the NCAA and international scene,” Knapp said. “I'm very happy they decided that Stanford has the best conditions and opportunities for them to thrive. The recruiting class covers almost all swimming events along with two very good divers. Each of these student-athletes will contribute right away to our 2014-15 success.”

Schavone noted that incoming divers Tarek Abdelghany and Ted Miclau are especially exciting recruits for the renowned Cardinal program.

“It is very hard to separate them ability wise,” Schavone said. “They are both excellent platform divers with very competitive list and great rips. Their springboards are very similar. Both are good, but with maturity and strength, they should become very good in a relatively quick period of time. We have an excellent men’s diving team and their addition make its even better.”
