STANFORD, Calif. – Spring may still be a month away, but the Stanford men’s rowing will be starting its spring season on Sunday at the Davis Invitational in Sacramento, Calif.

Racing will begin at 8 a.m. at the Port of Sacramento. The first race Stanford is scheduled to compete in is the varsity 8+ at 8:20 a.m. The Cardinal will send two boats alongside UC Davis and Santa Clara. UC Davis won the Head of the Port varsity 8+ in the fall.

The Stanford novice eight will make its spring debut at 9:40 a.m. The novice eight won its only race of the fall, taking first at the Head of the American on Lake Natoma.

Two Cardinal boats are entered in the varsity 4+. The A and B boats will be in the two center lanes for the race that starts at 10:20 a.m. Stanford took first and second place in the 4+ at the Head of the American while UC Davis claimed the top four spots in the event at the BIAC Fall Regatta. The JV 4+ will also have two boats competing at 11:20 a.m.

The final race of the day for Stanford will be the novice 4+ at 11:40 a.m. UC Davis took first and second place in the novice 4+ at the San Diego Fall Classic.
