RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – Stanford signees recorded gold medals in two events at the 2014 USRowing Youth National Championships over the weekend.
Three of Stanford’s 12 signees competed at the regatta on Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, Calif. with two of those three finishing atop the field.
Jovanni Stefani of the Pacific Rowing Club in San Francisco was the first to take home gold as his boat won the Men’s Youth 4+ A Final race with a time of 7:01.469. They finished just over one second ahead of the next boat to cross the line.
Allen Reitz of Long Beach followed suit with a gold in the final race of the weekend. He guided the Long Beach Jr. club to a winning time of 6:18.969 in the Men’s Youth 8+ A Final.
Also competing on Lake Natoma was Florida native Chase Navellier. Rowing for Miami Beach, Navellier took fifth place in the Men’s Youth 2x B Final with a time of 7:41.943.
