Stanford men's water polohad 10 student-athletes named to the All-Academic list released Tuesday by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).
Student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 grade-point average, play in at least 50 percent of its team's games and be a starter or significant reserve to be eligible for inclusion on the list. The ACWPC breaks down the list into three categories: "Outstanding" is reserved for recipients with cumulative grade-point averages between 4.00-3.71, "Superior" is for those with GPAs between 3.70-3.41, and "Excellent" is for those in the 3.40-3.20 range.
BJ Churnside and Adam Warmoth were each named to the "Outstanding" list for the Cardinal, while Adam Abdulhamid, Bret Bonanni, Drew Holland, and Charlie Wiser all earned "Superior" status.
Forrest Watkins, Conner Cleary, Griffin Bolan and Reid Chase all earned "Excellent" recognition.
Stanford's team GPA was 3.37, a figure that ranks fifth among the schools listed.
Stanford completed the 2013 season with an overall record of 23-6 and finished third at the NCAA Championship.
