LEIPZIG, Germany – Senior Francesca Bassa and sophomore Vivian Kong each earned points at the Coupe du Monde "Sparkassen-Weltcup" in Leipzig, Germany.

Kong added 20 points to her international total with a bronze medal finish. She eliminated Bassa from competition in the table rounds and would eventually tie for third. She now has 22 points in 2013-14.

Bassa placed 43rd overall to gain her first two points of the year. Her finish was the second highest by a fencer from the United States. Only Courtney Hurley finished higher in 37th.

Bassa and Kong will return to action for Stanford March 8 when the Cardinal heads to Pasadena, Calif. for the two-day NCAA West Regionals.
